Thanks to everyone that stopped at the meeting on Monday. I know several of you had previous committments and were not able to attend. If you could please see Abby, she has two papers for you to sign. One is going to be a xmas card that is given to all the Pius staff from our team and the second is going to go along with a letter to the girls that signed up at club day to play in the spring. Please just write something that you like about rugby. We are still working on getting a home field and with some luck may have one by our first game Sunday April 5 at 1pm (we host). To cover field costs, lining costs and sir costs we will be having a candy sale early next year.
We hope that you and your families all have a good Thanksgiving.

fullerton tournament
The fullerton tournament is March 19-23, with the tournament on the 21 & 22. The coach for Oak Creek is setting up all the arrangements since his team has been there 3 times. My understanding is that Oak Creek, Pius and North Shore are combining to represent WI. Please let me know if you are planning on going. I will need $100 by December 15 to hold airline tickets. The only way that this money is refundable is if the trip is cancelled. Any questions please call 258-6927.

fund raising
The money for the cookie dough is not due until we deliver the dough, however if people want to pay now that's fine just keep track of who paid. Sheets need to be to me by next Monday night (sorry I wanted to give you guys Thanksgiving weekend with relatives to sell but we couldn't get the dough in time for xmas). According to Mr. Z's dough will be in around December 10ish. I believe we get $4-5 per tub sold - I will call again to find out the exact number, I have talked with so many company's they all run together. This was the only one that had a large amount of choices and could get us the dough by xmas. I talked with Mayfair - no go on gift wrap they have one specific group this year. I do have candy to sell after cookie dough if people are interested 55% profit. For those not going on the California trip please help with the fund raising we are using this money for other things also: field rental, sir fees, posts, pads, jerseys, other tournaments and other rugby related expenses.

Cookie Dough Fundraising
We will be getting order forms for Oatis Spunkmire cookie dough tomorrow. Abby will bring them to school on Thursday, if you would like one (to fund raise), see Abby and ask her for one either in her TAC (604), or leave a message on the blog that you want one after school on Thurs. There's 16 different kinds of cookies, we're selling till the Monday after Thanksgiving, cookie dough will be here the second week of December. ITS REALLY important that we earn money for the team, the Watters' are broke! So push the fact that Christmas is coming and its an easy way to make Christmas treats.
Thanks
Thanks

yearbook
I talked to the director of the yearbook about getting some photos of the rugby team in it. He thought that it was a great idea. I will send the team photo but he would also like 6-7 more pictures (action shots are best). If your family took pictures that we did not get a copy of and there is a good action shot please email or send a copy with Abby, otherwise we will pick some photos and send them before the December deadline.
Also, a special thanks to Sara K. for pushing the rugby article in the Scope. Many incoming families got copies of the paper and came over to talk about the program. All together we had many incoming freshman that are interested in coming out next year. If some of them come out, some of the girls that signed up at club day along with our "core" players - that's you guys - we will have a good size team!
Sad new re:fund raising from Gilles. I talked with the manage and they currently don't do what Culvers does by giving a charity 10% of the profits for a 2 hour period. I left him with some facts on how it would increase his profits if it was done on a star day and we had the teachers phone in orders which were picked up/delivered by the rugby team and he said he was willing to think about it but I'm not holding my breath.

fund raising
Happy election day!
If you girls are like Abby you may be having some rugby withdrawal. While I know the spring season does not start for a while we have been looking into different ways to make money so we can compete in tournaments. A few girls will be going to California in March along with Oak Creek and Northshore to make up one of the 14 girls international teams at Fullerton. We are looking into tournaments for late spring and possibly some travel scrimmages this summer or 7's tournaments. In order to cut down on costs AND to get the money to cover the cost of the uniforms that you would eventually like (hot pink) we need to fund raise starting now.
* Shirts will be hitting the bookstore soon (possible x-mas presents for loved ones???) - we have to work out an account with them because we are the only "club" to sell in the bookstore and then Pius controls your money.
* Anyone interested in selling candy let me know. Also if you have a Sam's card so we can buy in bulk let me know. I have purchased some large candy bars, Reese's pb cups and large boxes of m&m's at a very good rate - we should be able to double our money on each.
* Holiday bake sale at Pius???? I am not sure if we need permission or who to get permission from so if anyone would like to line up a date for a bake sale sometime early Decemberish in the union that would be great.
* I have contacted a cookie company that sells 13 different types of pre-made cookie dough and they are sending out packets for those who wish to sell. They are promising that the dough will be here in time for Xmas which will make it easier to sell - at least from this full time working mom's view.
* I am still looking into Mayfair malls gift wrapping for charity but no guaranty yet.
* A Culvers night is also a possibility however I am not sure how we could get the word out to enough people to make this worthwhile. We would get 10% of the profits for the orders that came in with the Pius slips -- and no we can't hand them out at Culvers.
* Anyone with pull at Gilles let me know. I was thinking about asking them to do the 10% thing on a 'star' day. That way kids could walk from Pius to get food AND the teachers could phone in their orders, give you girls the money and you run back/forth so they can eat during their meetings and we would get money.
* Mr. Z's has contacted us about possibly selling pizzas in late winter. I work at a poor inner city school and the school just raised $9,000 from selling these. Just a thought.
Please let us know if you have any ideas, can arrange any fundraising events, find a rich donor looking for somewhere to spend money etc.
Two last things:
- We still need 2 jerseys from the last game & Dann's game shorts
- Christmas is just around the corner. I was thinking that the team could get together and sign a xmas paper that will be made into a team xmas card (with your team photo) and given to all the teachers at Pius -- a little suck up goes a long way.
Any questions or comments let us know.
