Pius vs Brookfield

Hell of a job ladies! Despite the 22 degree weather with gusting winds, the inability to feel your hands (or any part of your body), our lack of subs and numerous asthma attacks the team showed that winning isn't everything, its the persistance and heart of a team that makes real ruggers. Congrats to Ellie Lynch for making a try and the conversion kick and a "maybe next time" to Abby who scored a try that didn't count due to a whistled foul just as she scored. We may not have won but you looked awesome in your new jerseys. A sad good-bye to Sarah Heppe who leaves us for the rest of the spring season for softball. And a welcome to our rookies who all got a 'taste' of the pitch - we told you after you've been tackled once the game gets better. As always the other team was impressed with your gusto and the hard hits you made. We would also like to send a thank you to the Brookfield team for supplying us with great subs due to a few injuries and breathing issues.

Pretty sure that's me on the ground in the second picture =)

Despite a bunch of injuries, bruises, blood, and a whole lotta complaining today...RUGGERS: we did awesome. The fact that we were able to pull together and get a try in showed that we have the ability to work together as a team. WE WILL GET BETTER! It just took us a good 50 minutes to get warmed up =)

*tears* Heppe, we will miss you. But perhaps we will get the ruggers together to come to one of your softball games and cheer you on!

GOOD JOB, PIUS!!!
